40 days to 40

For the past 6 months, I've been reminding everyone near and dear to me that I will - ahem! - be forty this year. I even sent out Outlook Calendar appts. which marked the big 40 days to 40... and today....the countdown begins. For quite a while, I've been trying to decide what I want to do for my birthday... an 80's party perhaps? A motorcycle ride across the state with my homies?

I'm feeling pretty young today... so apparently it hasn't set in yet. I am sure that in 40 more days, I will be walking with a cane and have purple hair. By the time birthday actually gets here, I will probably be too old to celebrate and I will have to just take a nap.

So, hang on for the next 40 days - I'm hoping my 30's will go out with some good times.

In other news...
Tomorrow is Administrative Prof. Day and guess what? I have two jobs in which I am considered an "Admin" person. I work at the church as a "Project Specialist" ... which is a pretty fancy name. But, the job fits my personality. I don't have to be tied into doing the same thing over and over and over... I do different little projects all the time. So... they are taking us Admin type people out to lunch.

My other job is with my husband and dad-in-law. I work for their business doing books the other 2 days a week when I'm not at the church. So... I reminded them that tomorrow was admin prof day and we'll see if they do anything nice at all. Sweetheart, if you're reading my blog today... I could use breakfast in bed, an extra hour of sleep, and Dairy Queen. Since lunch is already handled. ;)

In the last news... disaster struck at our home this past weekend. We had a lot of rain and some septic problems. I'm still too traumatized to talk about it. But, my husband and daughter took most of the trauma. The worst of it is over... now we just have to pay for it.

Have a great day!

Quit whining about 40. Good grief. Get a hold of yourself girl! Snap out of this and get a grip! Get out of that slump. You are so not even a "40's" kind of person, so when you tell someone or they pry out of you that you are 40, they'll laugh in your face because NO ONE is going to believe that the bouncy, sassy, funky fun Tina is in her 40's!!!!! If you post about 40 again, I'll give you this speech again because we have to de-program you about the 40's lies. Go put a couple of cucumbers on your eyes and have some green tea and learn some break dancing moves and you will be fine! Or maybe just shake your booty to the YMCA song.....

Now the basement; that's a gloomy sad situation. Bleh! You have my deep sympathy.

Thank you for paving the way for the rest of us *sob* I'm right behind you *sniffle*

We'll TOTALLY party bloggy style in 40 days- and while we're doing it, it'll be so fun you won't even FEEL it!

Forty isn't so bad...It's certainly better than the alternative. :) Basement stuff is such a bummer. Hubby just went to block a basement window that the neighbor kids broke. It's raining outside!!! Gotta call the fix-it guy!

OH T! The basement situation makes my stomach turn for you. Been down that road when we lived in a city. Not a fun deal. I'm so sorry. About 40....I'm looking to you as a role model....I'll join you later this year, as will my DH. Party on!

How about a 29 days to 29 party? Because that's how old you look.
When I turned 40 (I'm 45) my husband bought me a cute little Camaro. I'm just sayin' ... is there a veeeery special gift you'd like??
